Day 1
1350 to 1630 – Depart from LCCT Airport to Kuching International Airport.
1630 to 1830 – To reach the resort actually just need around 1 hour but because we stop at somewhere for 1 hours tea break, therefore we reach the resort a bit late.
1830 to 2000 – Check in and take a shower then rest.
2000 to 2300 – Dinner at Palm Garden Seafood Restaurant.

Tips:
1. Damai Beach Resort swimming pool opens at 0800 to 1830.
2. You can take free shuttle to Palm Garden Seafood Restaurant from the hotel; however going to other restaurant may need to pay for transport.

Day 2
0700 to 0900 – Take the hotel buffet breakfast.
0930 to 1100 – Go swimming at the hill sea view swimming pool.
1100 to 1230 – Check out from Damai Beach Resort and on the way to Pinnacles Kuching accommodation. On the way to the hotel we stop by the Cat Museum.
1300 to 1930 – We walk to Aquarium Bandaraya, Sarawak Museum, and then lunch at the town, Indian Street, Chinese Temple, Waterfront then back to hotel.
2000 to 2130 – Dinner behind Parkson shopping mall. Actually we plan to dinner at Topspot Seafood restaurant (5 minutes walk from the accommodation) but because of heavy rain so we have to give up the plan.

Tips:
1. Go up to the hill swimming pool, very nice environment and less people. It is a sea view swimming pool.
2. The Pinnacles accommodation is very convenient because most of the place can be reached by walking.
3. If you have time can try the famous Kolok Mee (the green color shop) around the accommodation.
4. The fee of taking a boat crossing the river at waterfront is MYR 0.50 per trip. Boarding in front of Parkson. After crossing the river walk to the food court and the famous Kuih Lapis Factory is just behind the food court only.

Day 3
0700 to 0730 – Breakfast
0730 to 0820 – Check out then depart to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre.
0930 to 1000 – From Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to Jong’s Crocodile Farm.
1130 to 1230 – Depart to Longhouse at Annah Rais Village. Actually it is not so attractive and far from the town. However you can take this opportunity to see their living culture.
1315 to 1415 – Stop by the pottery on the way to SinPiao.
1430 to 1500 – Lunch at the place that near the roundabout around 10 minutes from the pottery factory.
1500 to 1600 – Go to SinPiao shop buy Bird’s Nest.
1600 to 1700 – Walk around the Sunday Market.
1700 to 1800 – Dinner
1800 – Depart to Kuching International Airport early to escape from traffic jam because heavy rain on that time.

Tips:
1. The Orang Utan feeding time starts at 0900. The officer there will call the Orang Utan and feed them. If the Orang Utan hungry sometime they will come to the main road look for food early morning.
2. The entrance fee to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is MYR 3 per adult, senior citizen and children is MYR 1.50.
3. The Jong’s Crocodile Farm is not just to see crocodile but you can see many other animals also. It looks similar like Zoo because you can see many animals and the entrance fee is MYR 16.
4. The long house visiting fee is MYR 8 per adult.
5. Must try the traditional liquor when you’re in long house.

This was my first time drove to Mont Kiara therefore quite hard for me to find the place, luckily I have Garmin GPS service integrated with my Nokia phone and it guides me clearly to the destination.

The environment is very special because I had the food in the room and very privacy but not for the smoking area. In the restaurant you can see the live octopus in the aquarium. After making an order the waiter provides me 8 kinds of side dishes while waiting for the main course. I ordered 1 dish of Steamed Codfish, Sashimi, Yakisoba and Oyster Steak. Some people recommend the grill Codfish but I prefer to the steamed style and it tastes good. After finish the food they will provide some dessert also like fried soft crab and dim Sum.

Tips : The side dishes and dessert are free of charge. The side dishes allow you to refill but not so sure about the dessert.

Yeah! Finally I’ve received the certificate for the completing of the 10Km marathon last week from the charity party. The Standard Chartered KL Marathon event was held on June 2010 and I only received the certificate this month.

This was my first time joining the charity run in my life, and I was excited because I could finish the marathon of 10.383Km with net time 01:19:10.

I will join the marathon again in coming year if I am available. Waiting for it!

Last weekend was Malaysia public holiday so my friend had organized a trip to visit this amazing place, with curious of the rainbow waterfall so I had registered myself to the visitors list.

This was my first trip to visit Sungai Lembing. We had all together 62 people who confirmed for the trip, so we went there by renting a bus for 42 people and some to get there by driving their own car. We set off from KL at 12.15 am Saturday and reached Sungai Lembing at 5.30 am. The bus stopped at the empty area, and then we went to the nearest food court to have breakfast. The food was cheap and delicious. After breakfast then we met in front of the food court at 7.00 am and waiting for the 4WD Ford Ranger to carry us to the rainbow waterfall. The journey was about an hours to reach the starting point of the rainbow waterfall. After we reached the place we only found that the water level of the river was very high until waist and the current was very quick. According to the driver it was something that unpredictable because in normal day the water level was below knee. The driver pulling the string to the river and sent 1 person crossed the river to tie the string at the other end so that we could hold the string to cross the river because the river was around 10 meter wide. It was challenging and something different from my past hiking experience.

After we crossed the river then we started trekking to the rainbow waterfall. Along the way to the waterfall we required to cross some short river. I took around an hour to reach the waterfall because I walked slowly and snapshot some photo along the way. I was exciting to see the rainbow that was very clear and close to me. The driver told us that we were lucky because on Friday night had a heavy rain otherwise we would not be able to see the rainbow because in normal day the water cascaded down the mountainsides was very little and not able to form a nice rainbow. According to the driver the best time to see the rainbow was from 0800 – 1100. We did our lunch in this nice scenery place. We enjoyed the time at the waterfall until 12.00 pm then only back to the car. We reached Sungai Lembing Town around 2.00 pm, so we went straight to the low cost hostel (Sg Lembing Rest House) checked in. After we took a shower, we rested for around 2 hours in the hostel or could be longer because after 2.00pm was free and easy time whether you like to sleep in hostel or walked around the street.

I chose to go out walked around the town. That day was a sunny day so I had ordered ABC (Mixed Ice) in one of the shop to let myself feel better. I walked around the street until 6.00 pm then only met them to have dinner in the food court (at behind). The food was cheap and the price was reasonable, we ordered 6-7 tables and it cost MYR110 per table which served with 5 dishes of main courses (Chicken, Vegetable, Taufu, Fish, and Soup). After dinner then we walked to the hanging bridge that was in the town and near the police station. Around 9.00 pm we went to the famous shop to buy the baked pork. After eating the pork we all went back to hostel and ready for sleeping, because we needed to wakeup at 4.00 am next day for the Panorama Mountain trekking.

On Sunday morning, we all managed to wake up at 4.00 am. We packed all the equipment like tripod for camera and torch light then gather in front of the hostel at 5.00 am. We started trekking to Panorama Mountain at 5.00 am sharp and reached the peak around 6.00 am because I walked slowly. The height of Panorama Mountain was around 818 Meter. After we reached at the peak then we looked for a better place to set the camera to snapshot sunrise. That day got heavy fogs so the sunrise view was not as good as we expected. We descended at 7.30 am and reached the Market/ food court around 8.10 am. We ordered the San Shui Taufu and some noodle as breakfast. The recommended food that must try were San Shui Taufu and the Tomato noodle. These two were the famous food in Sungai Lembing. After enjoying the breakfast then we walked around the town because on Sunday there was a morning market for the resident. We met at 9.30 am to visit the Sungai Lembing Mining Museum. The admission fee of the museum was free of charge. After visiting the museum then we went to the ex-mining factories site but after we reached the place only knew we were not allowed visiting the place due to some reason. There was a long hanging bridge to the ex-mining site which had 100 years of history according to the resident there. After crossing the hanging bridge there was a famous Lembing Noodle factory. We changed the original plan from ex-mining to the noodle factory to see the making noodle. We bought 1 pack of noodle which was enough for 3 people for MYR2.80. After visiting the factory then we went to the Hwo Hwa restaurant in the Lembing town which just behind the food court / Wet Market for lunch. It cost MYR 130 per table which including few main courses (Chicken, Fish, Tomato Noodle, Vegetable, Pork Rib with salt egg and Taufu). After lunch we went to one of the shop to buy the famous Lembing Coconut Biscuit. We checked out at 1.00 pm and then ready to back KL at 1.30 pm.

After passing the Selangor Dam, there is a short bride and you should start looking for parking after that. You can only park your car at the roadside, therefore suggested don’t keep your valuable belonging in the car. You will reach the campsite or open field after 5 -10 minutes walk from the entrance. You need to pay for MYR 1 to the officer at the counter before you can start trekking to the waterfall.

You need to cross the river few times and becareful when crossing because there are very slippery stone under the river. After 1 hour you may reach the checkpoint for picnic. If you would like to continue you will reach the peak for another 1 hour. If you decided to stop at the picnic checkpoint then you can go swimming and enjoying to feed the fish in the river. You are not allowed fishing but allowed to feed them with food like bread. The fish seem like not food for many days, because whatever we threw to the river they eat also but we don’t know whether it will go to their stomach or not. It was really a relaxing place.

The official name for KL Tower is called Menara Kuala Lumpur, and the height of the building is 421m. The special of the tower where there is a revolving restaurant located at Level Two of the Menara Kuala Lumpur ‘Tower Head’. While you enjoying your lunch or dinner, you can see the KL view from the tower because the place you sit is slowly moving therefore every minute you can have different view.

The restaurant (Seri Angkasa) is opening daily from 12pm to 3pm for lunch and 6.30pm to 11pm for dinner. The opening hours as below:

Here we talk about the USB storage device, many of us including me using the device for more than 5 years but don’t know who is the first to develop this useful tool. I just know recently and I was shocked when I heard this device was developed by a Chinese called Pua Khein Seng who is a Malaysian.

After he completed his Master, he worked in a local company for about six months before deciding to setup a new company. The new company Phison Electronics Corporation is formed with 4 other engineers who had studied with him. With their confident and effort they manage to develop and launch the product within 6 months. There is nothing we can’t do but whether you want to move the first step or not.

Without their idea there will not have a technology for 16GB of USB storage device which we are using now. His contribution is much appreciated.
