Desa Setapak Earthquake Ruined All Chinese Hawker Stalls

Probably, I should have called this a tremor rather than earthquake, but that tremor was powerful enough too as it ruined all Chinese hawker stalls that have been there for years!

Ohya, you may not understand what I am talking about unless you’d read the news/forums/blogs or staying around Desa Setapak.

On 21st of May 2008, the lovely DBKL went on to dismantle those so-called illegal hawker stalls at Desa Setapak. (Though, these hawker stalls have been there for years, many of them should have been survived for more than 10 years, with some of them relying on the business to grow up their little poor children.) However, the DBKL only dismantle the Chinese hawker stalls, all of them! (Well, again, that’s expected. I believe that most Malaysian know and understood from heart!)

Well, wait for at least another 5 years to live with a better life, and hopefully tomorrow will be good a day!

How To Open Locked Baggage With A Pen – GOOD

Assuming there is no steel cutter to break the lock or the luggage, how could you open a locked zip baggage if the key is missing? Or, could you just open and close the locked zip luggage as if you’ve the key on hand?

If you can’t figure out how to accomplish this as a spy did, let these YouTube video clips to demo the {spy} skills. So, make sure you open eye!

Your locked zip baggage can be unzipped and zipped again without damaging the lock, by just using a simple pen to accomplish the task.

Missing some of the personal articles kept inside the baggage might be unlucky, but the worst case could be the luggage tampered by traffickers for contraband carriage without your consent!

Glamour Of Prince Harry Completed With Real Battle

It was a shock to hear that Prince Harry was serving as front-line to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan, since the mid of last December before the Christmas!

The third line to the throne used to appear as party lover proves that he has enough bravery and high level of tolerance to sustain under austere living condition in war zone.

For example, the Prince hadn’t taken shower for four days and not shaves or wash clothes for days. There is no heating facility even the temperature at night could easily drop below zero degrees Celsius! When the Royal family gathered at Sandringham on Christmas day, Prince Harry had his goat curry for lunch in a former Taliban religious school.

While at the arena of battle, the Prince served as a battlefield air controller and spoke to the F15 jets with pseudo name “Widow Six Seven” (not really a good name to Chinese as 6-7 is synonym to “dick” in Cantonese).

If you are running short of money; if you’re unemployed; if you like freedom; but so long as you are not lazy to work, there are always chances to make a living.

Here I introduce you a new way to make money – Living Statue, a.k.a. Human Statue! To backpackers, this could be another sources for income by standing still for an hour or two in the tourist hotspot, before you start wandering the travel site.

If you can’t sing, if you can’t sketch a live portrait, if you can’t play guitar or musical equipments, etc, is doesn’t matter. All you need is the capability of stand still for long hours, cover your face and body to appear as a statue look (much like body-painting kind of makeup plus the optional costume) and play some funny poses.

If there is luck, Living Statue performer could easily pocket few tens or hundreds in a short while! So, good luck!

Liverpool Turning The Place Over

If you will be going to visit UK this year, don’t ever miss your footsteps on Liverpool, the European Capital of Culture 2008!

For those who are fans of The Beatles will know the Cavern Club at Mathew Street of Liverpool city. Besides, the sunken Titanic was also registered at Liverpool (as her managing company, the White Star Line, had its head office in James Street, Liverpool)!

So, what else you will expect from the European Capital of Culture? Well, other than the many heritage buildings, there are not lacking of modern, contemporary architecture. For example, the turning wall opposite the Moorfields tube station, where you will see the rotating outer wall of an abandoned building.

…The most daring piece of public art ever commissioned in the UK, Turning the Place Over is artist Richard Wilson’s most radical intervention into architecture to date, turning a building in Liverpool’s city centre literally inside out. One of Wilson’s very rare temporary works, Turning the Place Over colonises Cross Keys House, Moorfields. It runs in daylight hours, triggered by a light sensor.

This turning wall will be dismantled by the end of 2008. If you miss it, you could only see the video clip at YouTube or pictures in Google map!

If you’re travel by Virgin Train, get down from Lime Street station, walk into Dale Street until a T junction where you could find Prudential Assurance Building (on the left) and YorkShire Bank (on the right). Take the right turn and walk to the Moorfields station, Richard Wilson’s Turning the Place Over is just on the opposite roadside.

If you happen to be around Bukit Bintang, you may try this (non-Halal) Tien Ji (添记）Pan Mee. (Only small cheese will like it; big cheese in Bkt Bintang will prefer Jogoya @ Star Hill)!

I personally prefers to its special thread-like Pan Mee in dry, served with minced meat, crispy anchovies (the English word of Ikan Bilis), mushroom, vege soup and the tasty sour chilli source!
