Lumia Cyan (Windows 8.1) Start Releasing On July

Finally Microsoft has released this new Windows Phone OS to the existing Windows 8 Lumia user start on July 2014. This is also call Windows blue if not mistaken as the logo and the words display in light blue color when I opening the extra+info page.

I am so lucky to have the priority update for my Lumia 625 phone as the first update approval in Malaysia only for Lumia 625 and Lumia 925.

User are adviced to check the update availability from the Nokia official site for more information.
Lumia Phone Update Availability

According the information provided by Nokia official page, this update need to have 1.5GB available memory space to perform the update. I guess it make sense because the second update file size is big because I did check the storage page when downloading.

20% completed – utilised 200MB storage space.

To complete the update will utilise around 20% of the battery power, so for safety be reminded to charge the phone before do the installation. I charged until 80% to do the update, because I can’t spend time to wait for another hours to fully charge my phone.

The Lumia Cyan update with Windows Phone 8.1 consists of two parts:

First update – Quite fast and the update screen come to migrating data will have 6 steps to complete. This is like prerequisite update before the user can proceed to the Windows 8.1 update. After the phone rebooted, the second update will start automatically.

Second update – Take longer time to download, I guess it was the only major update file because after the first update it seem no different from previously. This update all have 19 steps to complete when come to the migrating data page. After the phone rebooted, all the new features will refresh on the screen.

I will learn and feel the features in next few day. (the screenshot button had been modified – now need to press and hold the power button and the volume up key).
