Resolve The Terminal Server Has Exceeded The Maximum Number Of Allowed Connections

If you are the one who need to maintain or monitor the windows server I think this error “The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections” may not be strange to you.

Last week I hit this maximum connection error when I remote to the Windows Server 2000 I guess may be some one who log in to the server without the proper log off or using the “Disconnect” option in the shut down drop down list. This error reject me even I use the administrator ID to access. By right this can be resolve with just simply reboot the server but because I’m not from the IT infrastructure team therefore I have to follow the company procedure to call support to reboot. The person in charge request me to raise a support ticket to him only can visit the problem. I start thinking if I raise the ticket how long will the team visit my problem and also time allocate for detail clarification.

After I end the call I go Google search for the solution and luckily I got to solve this without reboot and save my time to raise the ticket.

This is the error message
