Uninstall Symantec Antivirus Corporate Client 10
Last week I facing a difficulty of removing the Symantec antivirus corporate client 10.1.8, because it prompts me for password in order to continue the process. This is a virtual machine that I downloaded from my company file server therefore I don’t have the password.
I need to remove the antivirus because it slows down my application performance. It’s hosted in my local machine with limited memory. I tried many ways to uninstall the program but still fail and finally I got a solution to remove it.
1. Open registry
Start – Run – type [regedit] and click OK.
Search for the key [UseVPUninstallPassword]
2. Double click to modify the value to 0.
To disable the symantec password validation by modifying the value to 0
3. Close the registry and then uninstall the program.
