How To Get 2 PC To Be Internet Accessible

Nowadays connecting to high speed broadband is very convenient; especially offering the wireless broadband it makes you easier to get connecting anywhere, anytime with anyone. But, how do we configure the second PC to online without router and us using USB HSPDA modem?

What you need is just subscribe a wireless package with the service provider and then purchase a USB HSPDA modem. It may useful if you can fully utilize the service by letting the other computer to be internet accessible as well, but I just have network cable how do I make it work? Let’s begin now:

– After you plug the USB modem to your PC (Assume PC A), then the service provider will initiate a dynamic IP to you (Assume IP 10.10.10.1), this IP is used to connect internet and will change for every re-connection unless you subscribe as fix IP.

– Then go to control panel – Network connection, right click the wireless network and select Properties. On the popup window go to the Advanced Tab and checked”Allow other network users to connect……” under internet connection sharing. The bottom 2 checkbox will automatic checked but for the user control option you can uncheck if you don’t allow other user to take control or disable the share internet connection.

– Internet connection and sharing is done for PC A, here come to our topic of how to get PC B to be internet accessible? To do this we need to give a role of proxy server to PC A where we set the PC A LAN IP as 192.168.0.1 (This is your internal network IP and can be set to any as you like) that allow other PC to access via the same network group and subnet mask.

– Let clear PC B network connection setting by letting it obtain IP address automatically and then plug the network cable for both PC A and PC B. Once the network cable connected, PC B will then initiate an IP (Assume 192.168.0.2) that match the subnet mask with PC A and also configure the gateway IP to 192.168.0.1. If there is no error popup meaning you are now be able to access internet from both PC.

– For your information, if PC B cannot access internet, please type ipconfig in the command prompt to check whether the IP address the machine obtained is same subnet mask with PC A and also is the gateway IP set to PC A (192.168.0.1). If either 1 getting wrong it will not work.

This sharing will divide your total bandwidth by total machine, let‘s assume your total bandwidth is 384Kbps and share with 2 machine meaning now each machine will only allocate 192Kbps.
